First quarter peal of Grandsire Cinques: 5.

"We were so pleased to join up with York Minster’s renowned bell ringers for this special banquet, which was held in honour of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. This special event at the Mansion House was attended by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant, Jo Ropner, The Right Honourable the Lord Mayor of York and civic party, distinguished guests from the City of London, Royal Order of St John and senior members of the judiciary. The guest speaker was the Right Honorable the Lord Provost of Edinburgh.

This is the first occasion in memory that the civic city and York Minster have come together to jointly mark a significant occasion. It was a privilege for guests attending the banquet to listen to the quarter peal as they arrived.
