CHURCH CONSECRATION AT ALVESTON, GLOUCESTERSHIRE.
On Thursday morning, September 25th, the Lord Bishop of the Diocese of Gloucester and Bristol consecrated the new church which has recently been erected at Alveston.
...
The bells are hung in a good substantial English oak frame, but they will not be allowed to be rung up for some time yet, owing to the new state of the tower.
After the evening service the above mentioned members of the Thornbury local company, with A. York, of Bristol, bell hanger, chimed on the Ellacombe chiming apparatus, a 6-score of Grandsire Doubles.
The new bells are the gift of Mr. Edward Bush.
