St James the Great Monday, 31 August 1885 (10–1–5 in G) 120 Grandsire Doubles On Monday, August 31st, the local company rang, with the bells half-muffled, the usual whole pull and stand, and several 6-scores of Grandsire Doubles, as a last tribute of respect to the Rev. H. T. Ellacombe, late Rector of Clyst St. George, Devon. The following took part in the ringing; W. Knott (conductor), J. T. Horton, Rev. G. M. Custance, G. Evans, J. Field, E. J. Beatley and W.
